EMERGENCY MEETING



        An Emergency Meeting of the City Council was held in the Council Chamber on

Monday, December 19, 2011 at 7:20 P.M. for the purpose of confirming a declaration of

emergency, for necessary approval of refunding of tax-exempt bonds issued by Mass.

Development Finance Agency for Soundown Corp., The Smullin Corp., Inc. located at 16

Broadway, Salem, due to deadline of December 28, 2011 to insure the health, safety and welfare

of the citizens of Salem.   


All Councillors were present.

Council President Jerry L. Ryan presided.


                

Councillor O’Keefe moved to confirm the declaration of emergency for necessary approval of refunding of tax-exempt bonds issued by Massachusetts Development Finance Agency for Soundown Corp., The Smullin Corp., Inc. located at 16 Broadway, Salem, due to deadline of December 28, 2011 to insure the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Salem. Confirmed by unanimous roll call vote of 11 yeas, 0 nays, 0 absent.
Councillors Furey, Lovely, McCarthy, O’Keefe, Pelletier, Pinto, Prevey, Ronan, Sargent, Sosnowski and Ryan were recorded as voting in the affirmative.



#770 – INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BOND FOR SOUNDOWN CORP, 16 BROADWAY, SALEM

        The following Order recommended by the Mayor, was adopted by unanimous roll call vote of 11 yeas, 0 nays, 0 absent. Councillors Furey, Lovely, McCarthy, O’Keefe, Pelletier, Pinto, Prevey, Ronan, Sargent, Sosnowski and Ryan were recorded as voting in the affirmative.


Councillor O’Keefe moved immediate reconsideration in the hopes it would not prevail. Reconsideration was denied.


On the motion of Councillor O’Keefe the meeting adjourned at 7:35 P.M.
